Brand. Design. Choices.
Yesterday was amazing. The future is bright.
I had the opportunity to speak in front of about 100 promising, brilliant students at University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business yesterday. The interaction was great, the questions were well thought out, and the students were highly engaged.
I was able to share my presentation entitled Brand, Design, Choices.
We had some fun at my expense as I admitted my art and design career started off early on when I was drawing cartoons on my math homework. Career highlights like capturing Dave's Insanity Sauce with a crazy stunt which led to a 7 page cover story article in Inc. Magazine. Starting a business, teaching, leading the amazing creative team and brand now at Olberding Brand Family. It was a blast.
We looked at what makes brand design work, how fragile it can be when you mess with familiarity and recognition, being willing to be bold and take risks, and that creativity can drive business. Mostly, we talked about how design has the opportunity and responsibility to connect and tell authentic stories.
Thank you to the incredible professor extraordinaire, Rebeca Arbona for the opportunity to speak with your students.
The future is bright!
